GARDENA, Calif. – The roof of a Gardena casino has collapsed, prompting the building to be evacuated Monday morning.
GARDENA (CBSLA) – Firefighters rushed to Larry Flynt’s Lucky Lady Casino in Gardena Monday morning after its roof partially collapsed, injuring nearly a dozen people. Around 10 a.m. the roof of the Lucky Lady casino, at 1045 Rosecrans, collapsed. Los Angeles County firefighters and Gardena police are investigating the partial building collapse.
While there were no major injuries in the collapse, 11 people did sustain minor injuries of which seven were transported to the hospital after being evaluated by medics at the scene.
Police are working with the casino staff to ensure the money and property is secure.
The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation.

LA County FD reports that 11 people were injured, with one “moderate” and 10 minor injuries. Seven people were transported to the hospital.
Police released photos from inside the casino showing ceiling panels, sheetrock and other debris scattered across gaming tables.
Fire officials posted a photo from the roof, showing two rectangular-shaped trailers sunk into the partially collapsed area.
A visitor who was inside at the time told CBS that he had visited the casino before and noticed that the roof of the casino had been taped up.
Officials are on scene trying to determine the cause of the collapse.
